92% Of Chevy Volt Owners Would Buy It Again

How does one measure success in the auto industry? Obviously sales are a good indicator, but another important metric is customer satisfaction. In this era of increasingly great and competitive cars, one name has risen to the top of the heap as the car with the most satisfied owners; the Chevy Volt.

For the second year in a row, the Chevy Volt has topped Consumer Report’s annual customer satisfaction index, with a whopping 92% of respondents saying they would buy the Volt again. That is down from 93% last year, though it remains the best in the industry.

Of the 44 models that rated highest among consumers, 10 were fuel-efficient models including the Toyota Prius, Prius C, and Camry Hybrid. The Nissan Leaf also had a high rating, though the remaining 34 vehicles were mostly luxury or sports cars. Consumer Reports itself also gave the Volt high marks for its efficiency.

Despite waves of negative press, the Chevy Volt continues to rise above the fray with strong monthly sales and the most satisfied owners in the industry. Sure, we can attribute some of the enthusiasm to eager early adopters, but many customers are new to the Chevy brand and the most traded-in car is the Toyota Prius, which also has a very satisfied customer base.

When all is said and done, cars thrive on their ability to bring in new customers and retain the loyalty of existing customers. The Volt manages to do both.
