Another day, another chance to win one of Elon Musk’s award-winning Model S super sedans. That’s because the Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) is raffling off a brand-new, all-electric Tesla Model S as part of their 2015 auction series. We covered this contest, briefly, last month, and- of the 2,000 total available raffle tickets- there are still a few left, and every purchase increases your chances of winning. Raffle tickets can be purchased on the ISEA online store until December 1, and raffle entry is $100- but four tickets can be had for just $300.
The drawing for the contest will be held publicly on December 10, 2015 at 7PM CST during the ISEA organization’s annual membership meeting, where the winner will be notified with a phone call from the ISEA Board President.
ISEA Tesla Raffle | 2014 Winner
As most readers of Gas 2 would probably agree, the Tesla Model S is one of the most desirable cars currently on the US market. This beautiful and fully electric vehicle has received accolades across the world, and was recently named by Car & Driver as “car of the century.” And with its 265-mile range, it has the best electric mileage-per-dollar value when compared with other electric cars on the market. The Tesla Model S also has the highest safety rating in America, yet has lightning-fast acceleration, going from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 2.8 seconds (for the highest-end model). The MSRP for the base model is about $70,000.
But the best part? The winner will get to build their own Tesla Model S! ISEA will provide the raffle winner the funds with which they can build their own, fully customized Tesla. And- since most of the cost of the car is covered- it’ll frees up the winner’s budget to add on some sweet upgrades … like, maybe insanity mode?
The ISEA is a non-profit organization that is the Illinois chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). ISEA represents over 400 members, including more than 100 businesses across the state. Its mission is to educate and advocate for the widespread application of solar, wind, and other forms of renewable energy technologies for the people of Illinois. ISEA offers public education and professional education courses, and it advocates for strong renewable energy policies on both a state and federal level.
Current projects include the 2015 ISEA Solar Tour, which allows the community to learn about how local residents and businesses own, maintain, and live with renewable energy. The 2015 Tour took place Saturday, October 3rd, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, inspiring people across the state to make sustainable energy choices to reduce costs, support energy independence, protect against power outages, and reduce carbon emissions. Learn more about the 2015 ISEA Solar Tour.
ISEA is also raffling off a home solar PV system for their 2015 raffle event. The solar PV raffle is open to Illinois residents only. (The Tesla Model S raffle is open to all US residents.)
