2015 Lexus RC300h Shown at Detroit Auto Show

2015 Lexus RC300h

The 2015 Lexus RC300h hybrid coupe was first shown at last year’s Tokyo Auto Show. It appeared again in high-horsepower, V8-powered RC450 form at this year’s Detroit show, but it’s the deep red RC300h hybrid we’re interested in here- and it is an absolute stunner in person.
Up close, the details Lexus’ design department put into the RC300h (and, by extension, the rest of the RC family) really become apparent. Check out the LED running lamps and the fog lights, below. See how they’ve been cleverly worked into the bodywork and huge, chrome grille surround? They look incredible, and both are features that, I was told, was definitely going to make it into the final production model.

In addition to the gorgeous curves of the 2015 Lexus RC300h exterior, there’s plenty to love in the interior as well. A responsive and sharp-looking digital display shows off analog gauges in this configuration, similar to what you get in the latest Mercedes E and S coupes, which Lexus seems to be gunning for hard with these latest sporty offerings.
What do you think of these latest Lexii? Are they enough to get you to consider them over a Mercedes AMG or BMW M coupe, or are Lexus’ sporting ambitions too heavily weighed down by Toyota’s corporate blandness to be serious contenders? Let us know what you think of the new 2015 Lexus RC300h and RC450 coupes shown at Detroit in the comments, below.
