Nissan announced that it has already logged 6,000 reservations in Japan for the LEAF EV—thereby achieving its target for all of 2010 in two months. Bookings started on 1 April.
The company will continue to accept reservations; orders will be delivered on a priority basis in 2011. The LEAF goes on sale in Japan in December 2010.
Almost 60% of the reservations come from buyers 50 and older. According to Nissan, the age breakdown of those reserving the LEAF is:
20s | 3% |
30s | 13% |
40s | 25% |
50s | 25% |
60s | 34% |
